Covered stockpile
During demolition or building work, there is the potential for run-off from stockpiled materials and topsoil.
If in doubt � Stop and Shout!. Avoid disturbing or exposing more soil than you need to. Cover and stabilise areas as soon as possible.

- Place stockpiles at least 10 metres away from flowing surface water, streams, lakes, rivers, waterways or stormwater systems, gutters, kerbs and channels.
- Locate topsoil stockpile in a sheltered position within the sediment control measures on your site.
- Immediately cover soil piles to reduce run-off from your site. You can use turf from footings, trenches etc or tarpaulins until a more permanent solution is used.
