Site access
If in doubt - Stop and Shout! Avoid disturbing or exposing more soil than you need and build access points in the right place and the right size.
- Take some time to choose a suitable site access point then stabilise by laying geotextile fabric prior to aggregate being placed if clays have been exposed (see diagram).
- It should be made out of crushed rock/stone or clean aggregate (40-75mm) free of silts.
- The entrance/exit should be topped up with aggregate as required to form a bump large enough (200mm minimum) to contain run off on site.
